We’ve had a chihuahua in our care for the last week or so. He’s a fine little animal though not well trained. We thought a walk near the ocean would be a good way to spend the afternoon with him. We loaded the car and drove to Tor Bay Beach Park. At first we let him go on his own, off the leash but he quickly decided he was boss and stopped listening. That earned him a position on the end of a short leash.
I tried to photograph him but he didn’t cooperate. The strange surroundings were exciting and, to some extent, frightening. The waves were not especially loud to us humans, but he did not like being near the water.
Despite the distraction of having the dog with us Carol and I enjoyed the beach. Only one other couple was there. We never came within shouting distance of them so we basically had this beautiful place all to ourselves.
I never tire of it there. Over the last six months I’ve catalogued dozens of terrific places in the county but the combination of proximity (short drive), ease of access and overall loveliness have kept it high on my list of favorite places.
As for the dog, I think he’s happier sniffing around Donahue Lake.
Great pictures Derek….I think everyone loves Tor Bay Beach Park.
Love the dog! And Tor Beach Park looks beautiful.
Do you have any photos of beautiful New Harbour?
