Earlier in the week I hiked in the Port Bickerton area. One of the highlights here is the lighthouse (I’m going to use house instead of houses) which I photographed first from far away.
I composed this image to place the lighthouse in the exact center. It’s the white dot 5-6 kilometers away.
The lighthouse is probably about 3 kilometers away now located at the white patch of headland center-left. This photo was taken from the wharf near where the fish plant was once located.
I’m getting closer, about a kilometer to go. I paused on the road leading to the site. On a suitable day with adequate snow it would be an ideal place for skiing.
I’m within a 50 meters of the modern, operational lighthouse.
And now very close to the original building. I was squeezed for time by the time I got here. After shooting frantically for ten minutes I had to dash to make the ferry. With only one crossing per hour I did not want to miss it.

I love the last one.
I love the blues!! I agree!! the last photo with the contrast of blue, red and white, beautiful ! I went skiing today. Sticky snow, but calm and peaceful!
Hi Elizabeth – I took my skis out of the shed but didn’t get out anywhere. I may go for an hour later tonight…It’s nice to have the option.
