I could not resist the appeal of double digit temperatures yesterday afternoon and set out on my motorcycle. I poked around on back roads while never going very far from home. I mapped my route here.
I parked the bike numerous times but the highlight was walking along the shore of Chedabucto Bay. I think the day time high was fifteen degrees and as I walked it felt more like summer than December. The warm air, lapping waves and gentle breeze seemed exceptionally nice. I sat for a little while on a rock just soaking it all in.
I ventured on a road I was unfamiliar with only to discover it was a dead-end. I photographed an old house but ended up not liking the shots very much. I stopped in Guysborough but didn’t find an ‘urban’ landscape appealing. Basically I was out searching for opportunities in out of the way or easily overlooked places.
As the sun set I tried to put myself in position for a photo. The clouds ended up obscuring the sun as it went down and the colors turned out to be rather mild. Nothing great.
Another highlight was a brief exchange I had with an older man who stopped while I was setting up my tripod. We talked about the weather and the recent snowfall which was so different from this afternoon. He didn’t linger. I think he was out doing the same thing as me, poking around, only I don’t think he had a camera with him.

Sounds much like my day yesterday, except I think Antigonish saw a better sunset.
Looks like you had a nice adventure! Love the picture of North Riverside!
